November 2023 - A new hardbound edition of “A is for Astoria” is now available locally, with more fun facts to enjoy! Paperback editions of the 2010 edition continue to be available locally and from Paradise Cay Publications.
March 2023 - Circumstances required my leaving Astoria for several years, but I am happy to say that I have returned and am working on new projects. A new edition of “A is for Astoria” will be available in the fall and I’ve been working on a new picture book with artist Sally Lackaff that will, hopefully, be in print next year. Stay tuned!

My story
Not long after I moved to Astoria in 2002, I set out to buy a book on its vast history. To my surprise, I discovered that no such book had been written. So, I decided to write it myself. “Astoria: An Oregon History” was published in 2008 by The Local History Company in Pittsburgh PA. The book was well-received locally and sold out in a matter of months. Unfortunately, my publisher fell on hard times and could not keep the book in print.
In 2010, I established Rivertide Publishing, my history book was back, and my second book, “A is for Astoria,” was published. I had so much fun creating “A is for Astoria” that I decided to do a similar book about Sunriver, Oregon, where my family had spent many joyous winter and summer vacations. “S is for Sunriver” was published in 2014.
Since then, I have been busy assisting others with their book projects. Some are available for sale (listed on this website), and others are personal memoirs to be given to family and friends.
